ID this ugly thing please!

I saw this in my overflow. I have had the tank running for almost 7 months and havent seen anything like this before.

looks kinda like a mantis shrimp to me.. do you have a better picture of it?

That is the best one i could get. The overflow is behind my tank and with little light and is very hard to get a shot. That shot took like 20 pics. It is about 2 inches long and looks like a shrimp that is missing its head. If it is a mantis, should i dispose of it? Thanks.

It would be advisable to remove it but whatever you do dont touch it with your hands. Depending on its size, they have been known to slice a finger clean off.

so pack a punch that will break a glass tank.ill get it out but dont kill it.

Thank you for the replies. Now i just have to figure out what to do with it. The more i read, the cooler they sound. Perhaps a reason for a new tank. Thanks again.

thats an idea! Our lfs has TONS of things come out of their rock. They now charge $7.99 b/c you get stars and other things in it. Im buying lr rock this site now.
