I know some of the upsidedown jellies have alternate generations - where one will be free swimming and next will be hydroidlike. But I thought that the stationary ones still pulsed like the regular ones. Veni Vidi Vici, do they pulse or are the totally motionless? Are tehy soft or hard?

They are totally motionless and soft.

+1 and apparently the babies do like to hang in LR.
They look nothing like those in the photo or any other photo of an upsidedown jelly that i googled. I dont mind haveing them as long as they arent going to cause any problems with other inhabitants.

Wow that's pretty cool then!! IMO at least!! The other thing I was thinking was some sort of colonial tunicate, but not if they are popping up a lot.
They really didnt just pop up ,i rearranged rock work and exposed them .There are quite a few i have found in clusters .

Here's a photo of Botryllus schlosseri
Yeah, if it doesn't move then I'm inclined to go with something like Ophi's guess also... It looks exactly like the USD jellies I saw in the keys, but they opened and closed continuously.

Wow, I definitely think ophiura hit the nail on the head with the star tunicate id. They seem pretty cool, sorta like sponges but nicer lookin'.

So that photo you posted is a tunicate,Not a USDJ ?

Nope, those were both upside down jellyfish.

Lemme clarify so you don't think I'm on crack. Keep in mind we only see the pics not the real deal. But from the pics, your first post looks like an USDJ, but the ones next to your SPS look like the tunicate.
If they all look the same in real life, and they do not pulse or move, then I'd hafta go with Ophi's guess of tunicates.

Hehhe I dont think you on crack lol, after viewing some tunicate im starting to believe thats what they are more likely to be.
BTW thanks every one for your help.

Ill just keep an eye on the ones closest to my SPS or to be sure i supose i could put my finger on one and see if i get stung.
