its stays in one spot i dont think it can move
i seen one dead on a rock one time and it kind of looked like dead bubble coral stuck on the rock
im pretty sure its not aiptasia
it stays closed all day
those sweepers only come out at night
i have had them for a year or so now and their is still the same number as day one

Search hidden cup coral, and see if thats it. Does it have a skeletal base? If it does i would say its a coral, if not, prabably some type of anemone.

I moved them into a current where the extra food gets taken. They snatch it up constantly
One thing I did notice after searching for them is everyone says that theirs stay closed all day
Mine don't
Their tentacles are out all day
When the lights go off they seen to double
In length and numbers
By morning they are gone
By lunch their back out out looking for food

Nice find.
Please note: It is illegal to just take corals/rocks/etc from your beach. Be careful doing so as well, especially with rock. There is a lot of pollutants in the shallows where humans can walk and find these little gems and you could introduce a lot of nasty stuff into your tank this way.
