ok i went and picked up some more lr today and i see a couple of things that i am not quite sure what they are.
first is a thing that looks like an anenome, but i think it is the bad kind does anyone have a pic for me to compare it to. it is coming out of a hole in the rock kind of like my little feather dusters, but it has tentacles instead of dusters.
the other thing looks like a millepeed, it is orange in the front and gets darker as you go futher back.
there is also some orange spongy looking stuff in a couple of places on one of them. is this a sponge or algae.
and finally on one of the lr's in a little hole is a round bubble looking thing. it almost looks like an egg. it is dark green and almost translusant. it looks like it is full of water. is this an egg or something.
i will try and get pics tomorrow and post to see if anybody knows what they are. if you can tell from my description please let me know.
thanks,
mike

Here's a pic of the aptasia to see if that's what you have.
The millipede-looking thing is a bristle worm. Mostly a beneficial part of the cleanup crew.
Not sure about the orange stuff, but I'm thinking maybe a sponge.
For the bubble, that is green bubble algea. Try to take it out manually, but don't pop it or else it releases spores and will spread.

thanks viper, but i don't see the pic of the anenome that you said was there. i will try and use a pair of tweezers to get the bubble algae out of there i sure don't want to pop it, i was afraid that was what it was. dangit. thanks a lot for the help and i am glad to here that i did get atleast one or two good things even if i did get a couple of bad ones. how can i remove the aptasia if that is what it is.

Hehe, forgot that pic. Here it is. There are a number of good methods to get rid of them. I don't know with details what they are because I never really had an aptasia infestation, but do a search on it and you can probably find something.

ok mine kind of looks like the one in the bottom right, but it doesn't have a stalk or anything it is tiny and is coming out of a little hole in my lr like a feather worm. is it still possible that this is what it is or is there a worm that has tentacles like this instead of a feather? just wondering.
thanks,
mike
