hmmm deltecs are said to be way good. i have a euro reef and i love it but a lot of peole think they are overpriced b.c they say ASMs perform as good as the euro reefs for less.

I agree with Gnorman, i run a asm g3 skimmer on my 210 and love it for the price, a friend has a 300g with a asm and euroreef side by side and the asm pulls more than the other.

i think euro reefs are more expensive b.c of what they are made out of. its a higher quality material and they will last longer then the ASM. if ur looking for long term quality then euro reef is good ( but not the best u can get ) but id go with that over an ASM
hmmm the deltec id go with for this tank is the AP600 but its like 650 bucks so it seems to be too much.

There is a new skimmer out there it is called an octopus skimmer. You can get one for about $200-$250. All reveiws I've read say they are great and people love them. People are saying they like them better than ASM. My very nice LFS just replaced a bunch of ASM's with the octopus and he likes them better. I have seen them in action and they are very nice. They have a recirculating one that is more expensive. If you have the money go for that.

imo... euroreef are overpriced.. im not saying that they are bad skimmers.. just overpriced... skimmer technology have gone up big time in the last few years.. the reason why you hear about euroreef skimmer is because the use to be the industry standard as to speak.. they where the best bang for the buck and was tried and true.. but that was a while back.. nowadays.. you can buy cheaper skimmer that can run circle around a euroreef or asm for that matter that is rated for the same size... if i had $500 to spend on a skimmer... id build one... it would run off a dart orca...

There are a couple people selling ASM G Series skimmers in teh classifieds. I'm trying to get a G1 and I'm going to end up paying more than they are selling a G5 for. ASMs - best bang for the buck.
The extra money can be spent on a good external pump, if your trying to spend extra money.

i have a custom nautillus poseidon skimmer modified small but it pulls more than close to 800 gph of air and 600 gph of h20. but i will upgrade later on to euroreef 250 -- . and yes its overpriced but imo better than deltec for what i am using it for . imo use what ever you think is the best for your tank
