If You Had The Perfect Fish Only Tank...

I am purchasing my first home on Friday. I have a 90 gallon glass tank that has been down for 2 years. If you were in my shoes, what setup and equipment would you use to setup a 90 gallon tank. Tank's purpose: Want to have at least 1 (more if size allows) shark. (i've seen where you can buy an egg, clip it to tank, and watch it hatch; these still available?) I want it to be ideal. I threw away my skimmer and junk equipment. I am installing RO water in my new house. Here is what i have, that i'd like to use if possible:
90 gallon glass tank
Brand new sump to go under tank
PC's (replaced a couple bulbs before quit using 2 yrs ago)
It's the early model that is black and has 4 spots - currently 2 white, 2 blue bulbs.
Please keep monetary expenses in mind however base your decision on not wanting to buy replacement equipment every year or two....

it's not that there are "shark police", but when someone comes on the site saying I have this size tank and its purpose is for a shark gives you the impression that they don't even research they just come and ask questions that will be answered with the help of google in a matter of minutes. And then when you try and help them out and say no it is too small they get defensive and freak out, ( im not saying the OP is gonna do that but it has happened in other threads I have seen on here).

Yea, think about it a shark has to be moving to breathe. I have a 90 and there is no way I would put a shark in it.
I am not sure a 180 would work.
I would love to have a shark, but atleast I will never get bored tring to upgrade to a tank big enough to keep a great white in.
What size would that be 10000? What would it cost just to put lights on it? Return pump?(Mag650) flow(4- k50s) Well I need to wake up and get to bed.

I am definitely open to constructive criticism. I am far from an expert. My fiance wants a smaller reef tank in the living room however we have the 90 with PC's and a new sump so i thought, well rather than dumping $1k's into making the 90 a reef tank, i could make it FOWLR and spend the energy on the smaller reef tank. I was under the impression the shark eggs you buy are smaller sharks and with a 90 gallon it would be sufficient for several years. The place where i wanted to buy the egg, indicated i could buy the egg, enjoy the shark until it was too large. The egg would cost me about $50 and when it was too big for the tank, they would buy the shark from me for $100-$150 so in essence i'd get the enjoyment, break even on the cost, and satisfy my needs as well as the LFS'. If it's too small of a tank then it's too small, i can accept that. Furthermore all your input may have saved a shark from having a cramped lifestyle at the expense of my entertainment. I joined this forum for the purpose of getting your input, i expect nothing less, keep it coming! thanks all!

nice to see you have a positive attitude about it. you could keep a shark in a 90g until it gets larger but that would be within a year and then you would have to figure out how to safely get it out of the tank and transfer it. that is a personal decision if you want to do that, or you can set up a tank and keep the fish you select for life. in a 90g you can have a nice small variety of predator fish. just gotta figure out what you like. eels, lionfish,triggers,angels,etc..

ok my bad on the "shark police" sharks are sweet i would love one and last time i looked 180 is the min as far as i've seen on this forum. but why set your self up for heart break i meen if u hatch it and grow it up will you not have a bond or fondness for your shark? while the lfs might give you some good credit for it and such...do they care whom they sell it too... or how they will care for it...or do they care for the cash involved. my 2cents... look up how shark eggs are collected google it involves a prego momma shark being caught gutted robbed of eggs and tossed back to bleed out and die. I only know of my own personal sightings of small reef sharks while diving... but these creatures belong in the ocean. its the only proper tank for them. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A SHARK OR SUPPORT A STORE WHO DEALS IN THEM!

Not to defend keeping a shark (or the practice of shark eggs), but this post is so flawed! Not all fish stores just care about money. That is an awful generalization. Plus, many people have HUGE aquariums. There are plenty of people on here with more than suitable tanks to keep a shark. One poster has a 2000 gallon aquarium that he can dive into.
I really did not want to start an argument, but I felt the above post needed a little rebuttle.
I am sorry to the original poster. The thread is yours. Let's keep it that way.
There is plenty of REALLY cool things you can do with a 90 gallon tank. Fuzzy dwarf lions are amazing fish, and toby puffers (blue spots are my fave) can be incredibly interesting as well. Hawkfish are another AWESOME fish for a 90 gallon tank. Check out some pictures of different fish and see what you like.
As far as equipment goes, my perfect fish tank would have:
ETSS protein skimmer (always loved them), Mag drive 900 (reliable pump), Vortech powerhead (magnetic, fully controllable powerhead), Neptune or Reef Keeper controller (monitor your aquarium), Coralife AquaLight Pro light (love mine - great light, low heat) or Solaris LED light if you really want perfect, and PinPoint Calcium (if reef) and Nitrate monitors.
