Awesome tanks. Can any post up a picture of a tank using 14k?
If you have mh's what K bulbs do you use?

I never really gave it much thought but a 20000k bulb in a reef will slow groth, & a 10000k will promote it. So I would assume with a 10000k that corals will open more,or
would they open more with a 20000k or 140000 because they need more light :notsure: ?
It would be sweet if someone posted there tank with a 14000k builbs.

well ill be able to show u tomorrow what my tanks guna be like with those phoenix 14ks...
corals wont be open anymore or less i dont think expect for maybe the exception of softies in lower lighting they always seem to stretch out for more light IMO
but each bulb is different and has a different PAR compared to other brands with the same Kelvin rating some are worse than others
theres a good sight that compares bulbs and ballast to each other let me know if u want it and ill email it to u
i myself dont personally care for the 10K plus acitinics look i like the bluer more crisp look such as 14k's and 20k's
most corals we keep are in the 15 foot to surface range in the ocean which is a bulb that produces 6500K to 10K.... the 14k's and 20k's are deeper water colors at lets say 20-30 feet

to me i notice that these 14K phoenix bulbs are still very blue crisp white i really like them....
i notice some of the colors dont show quite as well as the 20k's but still they are pretty awesome!
i also notice that these bulbs seem to penetrate brighter to the sand bed IMO
