Just finished Patrick Rothfuss new book, The Name of the Wind, book one of of a trilogy. Very good read. Took me until chapter five to really get into it,but after that I could hardly put it down. Ninty-one chapters in two days.

now, is it really a trilogy, or is it one of those "oh yes, here are the 3 main books but there's also a prequil and some sequels and two 4-book serieses that take place in the same world" deals? I HATE that.

ah, ok, good. so it's kosher. .....for now.

what kind of fantasy? modern times? future? dystopic? imaginary world? is it told in 1st person?
I do need a new book. I'm getting bogged down in the "trilogy" I'm reading now. Need a change of scene.

Imaginary. Kinda has a celtic tone to the names. Told in first person. I'm not usually into fantasy. I'm more a suspense or forensic type reader. This was so good I went to his web site to see when the next book would be released.

Hey Mimzy have you read either of Ann Marston's two trilogies or Manda Scott's Boudica series? Both authors are excellent if you are into Celtic fantasy, and the best part is All of them are already a complete series ~ no waiting for the next book to be written ~ I Hate That!

If you're looking for something good and dont mind a LONG series, check out the Sword of Truth, by Terry Goodkind. Its finally done, at 12 books, each in the 600-700 page range. Absolutely fantastic series!

Haven't, will have to check it out. If you like Tolkein check out Dennis L. McKiernan's Iron Tower trilogy and the Silver Call Duology (of course, these are only a few of the books he's written about his world, Mithgarian, so if you like them you will likely end up reading his others as well.

my entire family is infected by this series. did u hear they're making a movie? i'm devastated. there's NO WAY they're going to be able to capture that properly on film. UGH!

Its going to be a miniseries on TV, not a movie from what I've read. I think its supposed to be a 4 or 5 episode series that will cover just the first book and if it goes over well they will make more of them. I agree that there is no way they can do the story any justice in a 2 hour movie.
