Its a little late now but.....
Get a bottle of Amquel +. This product is pretty much a standard in the hobby and most all LFS have it in stock. Its primary use is to treat tap water but it is also an ammonia detoxifier.
There are two forms of ammonia that can build up in your tank. Free ammonia which will kill and ionic ammonia which is basically harmless. Amquel works by converting free ammonia to ionic ammonia. If there is still detectable ammonia in your tank I would add this product to avoid any more die off in the tank which will lead to even more ammonia build up.
The bacteria that convert ammonia to nitrite and then to nitrate do not care what form the ammonia is so the tank will stabilize even when dosed with this product.
Your liquid reagent test kit will give you a reading for total ammonia, free and ionic, so this is not an accurate way to tell if you have a toxic from of ammonia in the tank. You can get an ammonia sensor (cheap 10$) which will read free ammonia only and give a better indication of if you have used enough amquel to convert all free ammonia. Amquel can be considerably over dosed without problem. google "amquel" for plenty of info.
Other than that all you have to do is give the tank time to stabilize.
