Thats perfectly fine for a fish only tank. I keep my reef at 79-80 and my sg 1.025. Just curious but whats MO tank?

Marine Only --- Fish Only .... my SG went up to 1.023 and my LFS wouldn't sell me the tang or the coral beauty till I had it back down to normal.... but I am curious in starting a reef tank in a smaller one just to learn because I don't know anything about em' and am wanting to learn how to do them.... and when I get that down I want to start putting corals in my 45 and 135 so....

I like when the LFS do that :) that means they care for you and don't just try to sell you anything for their profit :cheer:

ocean is so vast.. human kind can go to the space but doesn't know completely the secrets of the sea. that's why everybody is a noobie (from that perspective ;) )

Fine for fish only, but you have a chocolate chip star. I would suggest SLOWLY bumping up the salinity if you intend to keep it, and other invertebrates. Just top off with saltwater instead of fresh for a bit.
Your temperature, however, is fine IMO.

yeah.... but it's a really cool thing to do... I'm glad I got into this... so if I wanted to start like a 10-30 reef just corals and anemonies what would I need? or would an anemone be bad in that small?

could that be the reason my anemone died before? I had bought what I was told a florida condi but it turns out it may have been a Haitian.... ummm I don't know what went wrong on that I don't think i'll get another of those till I'm sure I can do it.... I was really disappointed...

that I wouldn't really want to say because thats a possibility but that fish store told me that it didn't need strong lights for this certain ones..... umm but it's stock with a single 6500k bulb but also my tank is 2ft deep....

also... the weird thing too my freshwater tank has reef lighting I dont know what they are or how many watts or what ever but i know there full spectrum... theres' 4 bulbs in that thing with big ballasts but neither of them would fit on my 45g and I was told I didn't need em'

you need at least Power Compacts or Metal Halides to keep an anemone alive.. a single bulb wont help
