I'm doing it

I can't beat the red cyano. I've been beaten by it; about a four month battle and I've tried everything. I'm going to get red slime remover tomorrow to try and get rid of it.

oh that really sucks for you. Did you try to increase your flow? (I know this may be futile at this point) but I only had red slime once and it was in a tiny tank (5gal?) where I had almost no flow.
Anyway, keep us updated. Make sure you read the instructions, I hope it doesnt kill anything else in your tank. I hate chemicals.. even though sometimes you have to use them
Good Luck

Yeah, I've increased flow, sucked out the cyano with water changes, fed less, changed my sock everyday, moved the sand around more, all parameters are good.
I just don't know what else to do and why it's still here. So, yes, I'm going to use chemicals as a last resort even though I don't want to.

Im sure youve given all this info before but how old is the tank, and what kind of filtration are you running?

I have found personally that the red slime remover does truly work. I have you used it on a 75 Softies Reef and My 120 soon to be reef. No problems or complaints here.

The tank is about eight or nine months old and I'm using a sock filter and a Euroreef skimmer.
My phosphates are at zero.

I have used red slime remover in two of my tanks with no ill effects, other than my corals being a little aggitated.

Well, it seems to have removed most of it and nothing looks to be unhappy except my duncan. I'm going to do a water change because the water looks really weird and then tomorrow use it once again to remove the rest of it.

Why did you say this ? I'm very curious of the knowledge behind this statement. I have used it several times with never an ill effect and I just used it last week and I having a huge problem with hair algea breakout. I've never had hair algea before. Of course at the same time I added a metal halide system and thought this is the problem. I'm currently running for a week on just room lighting while I work tweleve hour days and next weekend when I have four days off in a row was going to take out as much as possible and do some rock scrubbing. Any way let me know where that statement comes from.
