well my return pump failed on me twice in the past week. i live in an apartment, i am tired of steam cleaning the carpet and dont have the money to buy a new pump, so unfortunately i am forced to leave the hobby. i am selling my entire setup fairly cheap, livestock and all.
what i have is a 120gal (48x24x24), oak stand included. the rear of the tank is painted blue. the tank was drilled in the back by my lfs. the bottom is tempered so that wouldnt work. two holes at the bottom for the overflows, and two at the top in the middle for returns. i built overflow chambers in the corners of the tank myself with blue acrylic, but one side is starting to separate from the side of the tank wehre it meets the glass, so some repair might need to be done with some aquarium silicone.it works well otherwise. i have the top holes capped off right now b/c i was going to set up a closed loop but never got around to it. the sump and fuge setup i have are too small for this tank, therefore a new sump would have to be purchased by the buyer. tank and stand come with custom hood, with dual 250watt 20k mh setup. i had pc lighting supplemented also, but one of the ballasts blew out and i never got around to repairing it. also in the hood are 2 cooling fans. i
livestock includes:
1- yellow tang
1- royal gramma
1- tiger striped jawfish
1- lyretail anthias
1- zebra goby
1- pygmy angel
various turbo snails and hermits
1- 3" queen conch
about 75 lbs of lr
about 50 lbs of l/s
corals include:
various colored zoos
2 mushroom colonies (same color)
kenya tree coral
devils hand leather
neon green star polyps
toadstool frags which i just recently fragged
a pretty big bubble coral
and 3 separate cabbage leather colonies.
i will be keeping a couple of small frags of the smaller stuff, zoos a toadstool frag a kenya frag some gsp and maybe some shrooms. i am going to be setting up a 10 gallon tank with this little stuff in it, so i wont be getting totally out of the hobby, i just cant deal with a big tank right now. i will not be selling any of the powerheads either.
i would prefer not to part anything out, unless i knew i could get rid of just the tank itself for sure. once that is sold then its open season on everything else.
for the whole set up i am asking $1500 or best offer
. i would be willing to part with just the tank stand and canopy with lights, for$700
.
all reasonable offers would be considered and this is for pickup only in the galloway, nj area.
you can shoot me an email at blazehok68@hotmail.com

Sorry to hear, just go get a large tupperware container($10-20) use that for sump, also, were you using any kind of check valve, or air bleed holes to stop siphoning when pump or power fails, sounds like you just need some tips for not overflowing your sump. I know cleaning up water is no fun, is this really what you want?

no...you are right this isnt what i really want. i guess im just really stressed out and being up at 4 am on my day off just sent me over the edge. i was using air bleed holes in my return lines, the sump is just way too small. i actually made a trip to home depot and bought a 96 qt rubbermade container, and i have two other containers that i am gonna put inside of it to make it a 3 chamber sump. i think its almost 3 times the size of my sump now, and it will definately not overflow if my pump fails. i had a submersible pump laying around that i am gonna use for now till i get more money for a bigger one. its only 600gph, but i can slow down my overflows to accomodate it.
sorry to give anybody any false hope. stress is just a motherf.....
