I bought a yellow headed sleeper goby about a week ago. He is churning my sand over like crazy. i dont mind that part because he keeps it nice and white. BUT.....My tank is so dam cloudy its ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!! the sand is such a fine grain that when he spits it back out, it gets picked up in the current, which isnt all that strong anyways. the tank is so cloudy and before i got him it was crystal clear. I've tried twice to catch him, Each time i only destroyed the tank more....... I cant enjoy my tank and this fish is making me miserable!!!!! TOns of people have been over and saw the tank in this condition, its so embarassing!
-How the hell do i get rid of this fish????????????????????????

This is one of those things where you have to do the research on the species background before buying the fish...
"The Trap"- Can likely be bough at your LFS for $19.99- Highly Recommended!

! Do the fish traps SWF.com sells work?
What is the concept of all fish traps, and wouldnt the food just float out of the bottle?

Is "The Trap" the actual name of the contraption? I need to know the name and who produces it. I work at a LFS and can order many products, but only if i know the name and maker.

Carbon will only clear impurities out the water but will do nothing to clean stirred up sand.

How deep is your sand bed? You could add more coarse sand on top to keep all the fine stuff down. I know that all my fine sand has found it's way to the bottom and all I can see is the coarse stuff.

A cheap alternative to the trap is to get a small ( smallest you can find ) plastic soda bottle, tie a string to the top end of it and put some food in it. When he swims into it, just lift the bottle out. I have caught a few pep. shrimp this way.
The only thing is you have to watch the bottle so you can take it out at the right time, but other than that it worked fine for me.....and cheap too!

My boss had the same problem with southdown sturring up all the time. he used a "cotton" floss they sell at the LFS, it did real well catching the sand dust. might be worth a shot.
