Have you put the rock in saltwater yet? If not, then most likely alot of the stuff on the rock has died off.

You can get LR and sand online relatively cheap (compared to cured rock at your LFS anyway!) SWF .com sells it. With the size of your tank, you will need a lot, so ordering online is probably the way to go. You can save money by buying some LR and some base rock, which is dry, dead, clean rock suitable for the marine aquarium. It's a lot cheaper than LR but it can take awhile to seed it from fully cured and biologically active LR.
Be sure to cure any LR you buy.

most go 1-3 inches reef people go with dsb witch is like 6 or more. just stay away from the middle zone 3-5 as to avoid instability issues

It is a glass Tank. Thanks.
im in the same boat, as i have a 55g sitting outside that i want to use for a sump/refugium. im planning on bringin it inside, fillin it like 90% with water, then using a few gallons of vinegar. i figured id just let it soak for 3-4 days with a few powerheads in it.

I would just get a buchet mix it kinda strong and go at it with a rag
vinegar is acidic works excelent on glass
