im pretty fed up now. HELP

well, i bought my second powerhead, since my first mag 1.9 didnt work. i had bought that one used, and as is, so it was money thrown away.
so yesterday, i went to my LFS, and bought a maxijet 600. ive had a 1200 before and ran it for about 1.5 years with no problems. my new 600 doesnt even pump. not even a bit. everything is new and clean, and i can hear a hum/buzz, which im guessing is the motor.
so, why isnt my brand new maxijet working! it seems i cant buy any working powerheads!
so please HELP ME! im about to go insane!

i just shook it, and still no luck.
i need to keep maxijets, since the nozel will be protruding from a false wall, so i cant use a koralia, although i've thought about it.
any other suggestions?

seems like a problem on the magnet side as you say you can hear the motor. are you using the sure flow mod by chance?
if not the only thing that I can think of is something is causing it to bind
also might sound stupid but reverse the polarity on the plug going into the wall.

haha, yea, i'll try the plug thing, and meowzer, thats problably what im going to do tomorrow. i called the guy at the LFS and he said bring it in, and he'll try and fix it, and if he cant, he'll give me another one.

LOL...I hate messing with new stuff...the way I look at it...it should work as soon as I take it out of the box...

i mounted it using the little bracket that you just hook on the side of the tank.
im with you meowzer. if its brand new, it should work right away, thats why i buy it brand new. lol

yea, hopefully im going back to my lfs tomorrow, or thrusday to get a new one, and this time im going to ask the guy to test it in one of the tanks there to make sure it works, since i live about 30 minutes away, but im going to give it another try before i take it back.
its really annoying since ive been pretty busy lately, and my mom is the only form of transportation, and she works 6 days a week, up until 6pm, so we barely have any free time to deal with this kind of stuff...

ok, i went to the lfs, and it turns out the magnet on the impeller had sepereated from the impeller. the guy gave me a new one, no charge. this one works flawlessly.

Yes somebody else feels the pain of no transportation. jk I sucks when you need just one little thing done but you have to wait for what seems like forever just to accomplish it. Glad it is working.

definately. i had to wait since about last thrusday to get some epoxy from the hobby store for my false wall, and we went today and they were closed! now who knows how long i have to wait to go again.
