Hi all,
Someone pointed this link out to me, and I thought it might interest all you too. It explains another possible reason why Ca levels can get really high.

Excellent, btw, I'm new here. :D I've been keeping fish tho fo 25 years, and salts for 10+. I've had a pond for around 11 years with koi and ornamental goldfish.
I hope to stick around some her, it's a nice site.

Me too. But there were some parts about it that stuck with me--basically the part about how too much Mg can detrimentally effect CaCO3 precipitation (and presumably corraline growth).
