Hello I am wondering is there anyone out there willing to donate of sell me a cup or so of their live sand so that I can seed my sand bed. This would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time
Hey Mini I was able to get a few people to respond to my kansas post there is a guy from Kansas City and a few from Topeka. I am in Emporia quite a bit. My wife is from there. Isn't Emporia halfway between Topeka and Wichita? So how far a drive would it be for me if I was to come pick up a cup of sand from Emporia? Do you have any pictures of your tank? I love to see other reefers tank so that I can get ideas.
I live in Oklahoma City, and my lfs told me that she was in Wichita a few weeks ago, and apparently they have one of the best lfs she has ever been to. I don't remember the name of the place, but I'll find out if you want me to.
I would send a small sample of my ls...but shipping it overnight to prevent die-off would be costly.....look around at lfs and see if any of them are curing their own lr...if so then ask about getting some of the crud/rubble from the bottom of the curing tank...great stuff for adding diversity to a sand bed...I get some from one particular lfs every time I go there.......and I have a few pics that you might like...*_^

Here in Topeka where I live there are only two stores that have enough saltwater items to speak of. When I asked one store about live sand she said that they had it and that it was $8 a lb. What she showed me looked like some of the nastiest dirtiest stuff I have ever seen( bet my tank was clouding up at home just cause I was looking at it!) Not only that but a pound was not very much. The stores here in my town are way over priced they would never give you anything!!! That is why I hoping to meet someone in my area or near to it that I can get a cup or so from.
NMREEF I seen pics of your tank and That is by far one of the prettiest tanks I have seen. That is how I want my tank to look someday. So what all do you have in that tank of yours?
