does anyone using In-Tank Refugium? is it a good idea for Nano tank to have the refugium? The size of the Refuguim is 7-3/4" L x 4" W x 7-1/2" H. Includes a Rio Powerhead to keep fresh water flowing through the refugium. $30 total.
what do you guys think?

I think it would be good for pod production - but you would not get the full use of a 'fug ... namely you would not help stabilize the PH because you could not light it 24x7. Otherwise if it fits and you are OK with the look then I think it would be fine.
Do you HAVE to run a refugium - no - I've not used them on small tanks (5, 5.5, 20 or 29) before though I do have an above tank one I will be setting up on my 20.

oc. thanks
if i want to set a above tank for refugium(10 gal), i only need one powerhead, right? (to pull out the water from display tank)
well, what about back flow? need one more powerhead or something else?
(the space under my tank is limited, so i don't want to put a fug yet.)
thank you very much

I'd offer to get pictures but I am stil lat work on 3 hours of sleep.
Basically you would have a hole drilled and a bulkhead put into place with an overflow built into the bulk head. Mine is an acrylic one that is very simply made ....
PH (1200) pumping the water up and into chamber one - then into refugium then draining via overflow back into tank.
I'll try on pictures but no guarantees!

thank you for your help. i am getting some ideas now.
what kind of powerhead are you using for refugium? (brand and type) Mine is Penguin Powerheads (model #1140), 300 G.P.H forward. is this too powerful ?

How far up is the water being pushed to the above-tank fuge? The greater the height, the less actual GPH you'll get out of the pump.
