Sounds like you have a non tank raised clown. Do you know if he is tank raised or not. I have had non-tank raised clowns before. He will prob take a little while to get use to the tank behind he is straight from the wild. Espically if he got setteld at the LFS and being moved to another take again. I have had alot of success with tank raised clowns. They are very active and dont just sit in the corner of the tank. MY little guy is cool to watch i like watching him run on his treadmill (powerhead-current). Most clowns around my LFS are all tank raised now from the ORA place which is a popular fish farm. How do they say once you go tank raised you never go back.:D But if you have a big reef tank and not that much intrested in clownfish its cool to have a non tankraised behing youll have active tangs and what have you. In my case i have a 60 gallon and my clown is mainly my #1 fish to me. Hope this helps

Yea deff wait. My brother had a shy baby hippo before. He slept in the rocks for a couple days and would only come out seldom for the first week. Now he is out and about all the time. Not even human shy like most. Deff dont overfeed like my brother did chance of geting that brown yucky hair alage on the rocks and sand.I want one of those black and white clowns bad. I have never seen one yet at my LFS. ANd my LFS is about 75% marine. Mine actually took about 2 days to come out from behind the rocks. NOw hes a maniac he will come around.:D

Clowns are extremely territorial. Ocellaris are one of the most territorial, Perculas are the most.
This means that when you move one from tank to tank it's going to be distressed until it accepts its new tank as home. This usually takes 3 or 4 days in my experience.
