Without knowing more about your tank set up... lighting and how long the coral has been in there for its tough to say based on that pic alone. It could just be closed up for now and getting acclimated to its environment if its new to your tank.

based on the colors of the skeleton the white and dark areas, i would say its dying back, a list of tank parameters and equipment may help diagnose a problem.

reefkprz I had the water checked by my store where i by most of my coral. I have a 40 gal eclips 3 tank It been set up for over a year.it has a retro lite kit 65 watts florescent blue and white.just the filter in the hood.Everything else in the tank doing well. I noticed the color of the bubble was getting darker and darker. so i put it in another 1 gal tank with the same water that he came out of and left the lite out for about 3 days just had room lighting at that time.Decided to put it back in the main tank and put it on the sand. figured i would give it a try, don't look any different than it did 3 days ago.I think i'll leave it alone the way it is and see what happenes What do you think??? ok I can understand that you had the water tested but I (and everyone else) need numbers to Identify potential problems. the LFS Idea and my idea of fine may be totally different (probably are) numbers would help a lot if you can remember the results of the tests.
the things we need to know are SG level or salinity wichever you prefer, temperature, calcium, alk, ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate.
I dont think depriving the coral of proper lighting is going to help it in any way, only hurt it as for those three days it couldnt gain energy through photosynthesis, so it may have weakened it more.
Usually when corals darken its a sign that they are growing more symbiotic algae for photosynthesis, potentially due to lower lighting than they may be used to. about all I can suggest is leave it be and hopefully it recovers as I know almost nothing about the conditions. sorry I couldnt be more helpfull.
