Inexpensive Fish

Here is my question from the other post. What are good, inexpensive fish that will not be murdered by damsels? I don't really like clownfish either. Any ideas? Also, I have heard that lionfish come in a dwarf version? Is this true and what would it take to keep a dwarf lion? How large would it get?

CLOWNS. My clown is no weakling. She can keep my damsel in check, and even lets my tang know when he's too close! And they're cheap, cute, and have awesome personalities.

ooooops! I just read "the other post" you were talking about and you said you didn't like clowns. sorry. Well, DEFINATLEY go ahead with the cleanup crew and yellow tang. those guys will be really cool. At least I love my yellow tang who I've had for a year now and IMO he's the coolest fish to ever swim the sea (or aquarium, whatever u perfer). Others like angels may have slightly more fantasic colors, but Tangs definaley are MY personal pics. (and triggers and clowns are 2nd and 3rd) I know krazzydart will disagree with me, but I wish he'd answer my post under "Tangs, tangs, how many?"

You could still go with a lionfish. Mine cannot catch the damsels!! Also a porkypuffer, niger trigger, or yellow tang are all fairly inexpensive.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the replies. I have a few questions about your suggestions. First, my lfs only carries volitan lions...do the dwarf lions look like volitans or are they different? (saltwaterfish.com doesn't have a picture of one). Also, I have heard that it is hard for people to get lions to eat anything but live food. Any comments on this? My hubby used to keep Pirrhanas and I can't stand to watch them hunt down prey. Drives me nuts. Also, can you have more than one wrasse in a tank? I looked at the pics, etc. and they are pretty. I will acquire a yellow tang soon and also like the Naso tang. They're pretty.
