I have an extra 400 mj that is not being used. I do not have a pump, tubing & airstone. If a chemical treatment is ever needed, can I substitute the powerhead for the pump/airstone? Thanks, dr

I read that if chemical treatment is necessary for brook, the items need are a container(tank, bucket, etc), heater (if needed), pump and airstone. I don't have a pump & airstone. I do have an extra mj 400. I was wondering if I could substitute the powerhead for the pump & airstone. I hope I won't have to do a chemical treatment, but just in case, I want to be prepared. thanks

Some older books recomend airstones. Powerheads are a much better choice.
