Input time for the Finnex 30 gal

It will be here in a couple days; since all of you have the smaller tanks. How many pounds of sand do you think it will take to make a 2"-3" sand bed. I'm also thinking at least 60 lbs of live rock? For my 65 I kept going to the store and buying bags of live sand; laying them in the tank and going back for more! lol Figured it would be MUCH easier to ask all of you.

i have about 15-20 in my 10 gallon and have about a 2 inch sand bed.
60 pounds of live rock will be alot. it should be fine tho. just get smaller ones and you can get some nice rock scape going on!

This tank is gonna look so sick... I'm jealous. no cheapo corals though, that's my biggest piece of advice. If you throw bargain bin corals in a nice tank.. it'll start leaking mysteriously and then all electrical equipment will fail at once to get back at you..

kat, im gonna say 40lbs of live sand, and probably, unless u can get it in really small pieces, 40lbs of live rock, that would give you a nice even look in the tank sand wise, and 40lbs of rock, if the right pieces, is perfect.
have you thought about a stocklist fish wise yet?

I want caves and crevices so I'll go with smaller rock.

Mental note; NO cheap corals.. LOL I don't want leaks or electrical problems.... LOL Your pic up in the corner; what is that?

I have not thought alot about the stock; my other tank was more fish than coral, just had the really hardy stuff, green star, xenia.. I don't know alot about corals. I'll need you guys to educate me... I've been reading alot.. Is it the LPS or SPS that is hard to keep?
One last thing; How do I reply to several post in one message? I went to FAQ and couldn't find it.

With the 24" x 18" footprint of the 30 gallon Finnex tank you will need:
For a 2" sandbed about 35 lbs. of aragonite
For a 3" sandbed about 50 lbs. of aragonite.
This is from a sandbed calculator with the weight of aragonite at 70 lbs. per cubic foot.
