Interesting speculation... baby shrimp??

There are tiny white specks on all sides of our aquariums. They just look like particles but if you focus on one area for a couple seconds, every now and then they seem to "jump" forward.
Under a magnifying glass they have little round white bodies, and what looks like a clear tail. Also my dad said he might have seen tiny antennae on them.
At first we suspected Ich - but none of the fish or invertebrae in our tank have anything on them and we heard that Ich needs a host to survive.
We do have two Peppermint shrimp.
Could one have had babies?

Nope... copepods... very common small inverts in aquariums. Benificial scavangers and you will see their numbers rise and fall as your tank matures, as they seem to breed in cycles.
Typcially if they are on your glass they are scavaging film algea, and you have been lacking in keeping your tank glass clean...

No way!! I used to wipe all that stuff off with a scraper... and I have 4 snails and a sea hare, LOL. I refuse to believe that my tank is anything but spotless. Especially with that darned hungry sea hare in there haha!!
I'm just playing. At any rate... I'm very glad they are beneficial :) :) :)
