I have orderd alot from swf.com inthe past month. I dont have nothing bad to say cause all of my fish are doing great. The only down side is that you dont get to choose the size of the fish/inverts that they send. Also I got a naso tang in the mail that was dead, but they willingly sent another to replace it. But unfortuntley for me the replacement arrived dead also. His skin had alot of white blotches on it so from what the people around me say it was stress. I read in the guarantee that they wont replace a fish twice.
But all in all I would highly recomend SWF.com for your purchases.

:happyfish Totally safe. Never had a problem. Even if you have to pay shipping, somehow it still is cheaper. I totally understand where your at, I was there when I started. You save SOOOOO much when you order online. You still will need your local lfs on occasion though for certain things. Good luck, and welcome to swf.com!

very true. and with that said, all of my fish have come from SWF. very healthy and active. the only ones i have lost was not the fault of SWF, but of other fish/inverts that thought they were a tasty treat

I want to buy about $120 worth of fish and I am wanting to take advantage of the free shipping, but the fish are never available at the same time. The fish I am ordering are very common and I am sure that they would come in shortly. Will SWF hold fish to complete an order?

I've only had one experience with SWF.com, and my opinion will be deleted if I go any farther. A fluke? I hope so.
But I must say....I love my LFS. I work at one, but I love the others in town, as well. We all have different suppliers, so we work together to get things for people. The other LFS's in the area work REALLY hard to help me, a rare clownfish collecter. If you have quality LFS's, I would encourage you to support them, or they could be gone.
I see the point in some people needing an online source, however. Some people have crappy (I'm being nice with that adjective) LFS's, so they need that. But there is nothing like watching a fish eat and being able to hand pick your specimans from a good LFS.
But I must say....I love my LFS. I work at one, but I love the others in town, as well. We all have different suppliers, so we work together to get things for people. i agree with ecook:yes: i mean if my lfs werent literally DOUBLE or TRIPPLE :scared: the cost of the stuff compared to this site and if they werent and hour and a half away i'd go to them, i mean they have got some good info but in the mean time i will just stick with here!

I try to work with our LFS because like it has been mentioned if you don't they will be gone.
I just make sure that I do my homework. I do the research. I decide what size speciman I want for my tank.
Then I go in with my list. Sit there while the order is being called in and get the total price. I/we order on Mondays, truck comes in on Wednesdays. I'm there within twenty min. The LFS has my shipment waiting for me. They have not been acclimated yet which takes some stress off my purchase.
I love shopping online too. I use some products that are not part of my LFS inventory so they can't order it for me.
Every delivery driver in town knows our address.
I am going to say that 90% of our online live order have been satisfactory, dry products are 100% accurate, and live foods, 98% perfect.
