interpretation of my fish's behavior

my new porcupine puffer keeps swimming left to right near the surface of the water. Are they all active/hyper like this? Or does this mean he is stressed out about not enough space?
the tank is 75g with no other inhabitants. about 80lbs of LR

How's the water? and how long has this fish been in the tank? How big is it?

water - time to do a water change, haven't done it for 2 months. the fish's been in the tank for about a day. it's about 5 inches big. it's a 75g

my stars and stripes puffer only does that when he is hungry. after i feed him a fish or two he floats back to his hiding place and chills at the bottom of my tank.

I wouldn't worry, you just described our porcupine's behaviour perfectly. They are very tame, and very human responsive. Does he have a favorite food? Try holding it at one end of the tank, he'll come right over and start spitting water at you until you drop it.
