Intro and quick question

It's been almost six years since I last had a saltwater tank up and running and I am getting ready to start a new tank. My previous tank was FOWLR and things went well until I moved and left my tank with my folks. Fast forward a bit and I have decided to start a 75 gallon tank which will eventually include some corals and of course some fish. I plan to take my time and slowly piece things together. I found what I believe to be a pretty good deal on a couple tanks at a LFS one has a corner overflow and the other has a centered overflow. Is there a benefit to having the overflow in either location? Aside from aesthetics are there any functional advantages or disadvantages to either? Which would provide better options for aquascaping? Thanks in advance!

I have a corner overflow in my tank. I picked corner purely because the tank is visible in the back through 2 cut outs in the wall and the center ones would block the view. The corner didn't. the tank with the corner overflow also came with a plumbing kit. Mine is a marineland. I love having the built in overflow.

Just my option lol the center gives you a more even distribution. I would think the corner is less obtrusive as far as looks.

When I was tank shopping I did like the look of the center better but now seeing how fish end up in there I can see them with the side and have a shot at getting them out. The center ones don't allow that.

I have a center overflow and it didn't really matter to me. Lol

But I agree on both points above. Yea it's centered, which looks nice but there is a large area from the back of the tank I cannot seethrough, which isn't that big of a deal for me, but when you can't find a fish, or whatever you can't see through that area.

I think it is purely aesthetic and no real benefits one way or the other.

Having spent many hours trying to capture fish in a corner overflow, I can't even imagine having a center overflow layout. Just sayin...
