I have an oppty to add about 60 more watts PC to my 30 gallon tank that has 120 watts pc at the moment. It would be great to have the 6 watts per...but I was wondering how I go about adding the new light w/out stressing the corals in my tank...or melting the mushrooms/polyps (if that happens). Any help would be appreciated greatly.

120 to 180, not to really worry, go for it, your corals will most likely not stress that much if at all. You may see a little more algae for a while is all. If anything I can see your corals responding favorably.
This is not a major change in lighting where I would say to cut back on your schedual for several hours and build it back up slowly.

i agree its not a big change.... but to be on the safe side i might cut the time down a tad and slowly increase it....and yeah you will see alittle more algae and maybe even some cyno or diatoms
