Intruducing New Fish

Was having a dicussion with a friend this weekend about the best way to introduce a fish to a tank... Just wanted to here what some of you think or have done that you've found to be very successful.
Any comments are great...thanks

it all depends on if it is aggressive community, or if you mean like acclimating(sp?) i dont kno what u mean

in my fo tank that is community i float the bag in the water adding in some of my salt water tyhen after about 45 min. then i scoop the fish out with a net and turn off the lights until the next day

That's what I was wondering...I have been told by some to float for about 15-20 minutes with addition of saltwater from tank a few times...
But I guess it's also I good idea to not just dump it all into the tank and actually remove that water...
