KH is alk. I would not recommend adding any kind of ph lowering agent. I would just wait it out. Adding things slows the natural progression of the tank's establishment. Once your alk has been tested, you can see if you need to add something for that...that will take care of the ph.

Did your inverts die before you used chemi-clean? Reason I ask is, I used the same stuff, 36 hours later I had a big ammonia spike. I was lucky I caught it and did a 40% water change. Obviously like everyone said your ph is way high, but I bet the chemi-clean didn't help

the emerald crab will need established rocks to munch on. Although you have algae, it sounds like it is/was diatomes, which the crab will not eat. You need to establish enough goodies on those rocks, which will happen over time. Don't stress. sit back and wait it out.

instead of using the red slime remover in future, test for phosphates, and use a phosphate reducing agent in your filtration system. also make sure you have decent flow. It will go away on its own with low phosphates.

chemiclean requires a 25% water change 48hours after introduction to the system... did you mean that you did another 40% after this 25% change??? It does oxidize and kill algae which would cause ammonia spikes.

I use Pura Phoslock--just a tablespoon in a mesh bag in the filter, along with chemipure and purigen.

I checked my water 2 days in a row after using the red slime remover and no ammonia spikes or anything. the crab died before the chemiclean too.

check for a mantis shrimp or other hitchhikers... do you hear any popping or anything around the tank especially at night?
You may want to stay up a night and watch.. put a couple blue leg hermits in a jar in the tank before the lights go out and see if the mantis will try to get them at night.
