caninverts live in an uncycled tank? my tnak is 2 months old, and i never saw a big cycle happen, only a small one, but ive had a few turbos, a serpent star, and 2 peppermint shrimp living in my tank for about a month. do u think these would still be alive if my tank wasnt cycled? do u think my tank is ready for fish? i have about 20 lbs of live rock, and 1-4 inch of crushed shells as my substrate. itsa a 45 gallon tank.

If you have healthy inverts in the tank, then it most definately cycled. In fact, inverts are way more sensitive than fish, so you are ready for fish as well.
edit- get rid of the crushed coral and get aragonite sand before you go any further into the hobby, trust me :)

i really like the way the crushed shells look, and i cant find sand anywhere, its all stuff that says do not use in fish tanks. its only a thin layer, so i figure if i keep it clean as possible itll all work out. i trust ur advice though, and i believe u when u say it will give me poblems, but i think its ok for now. im also hoping to get a bigger tank soon so that will definetely be live sand.
