Iodine

Hiya,
I've heard that certain corals need iodine to thrive. Which ones? Are there any that can't tollerate iodine? I dont' want to mix the two of them by accident.
What about fish? Any fish that need it or can't tollerate it?

Xenia love iodine. They pump like crazy when you poor some in near them. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think any other corals are bugged by it. I've got leathers, mushrooms, hammer, star polyps, etc and they never get bugged by it. I am interested to find out what someone else has to say though.

Most people don't add additives to there tank..Don't know why...They belive the salt gives the tank enough....I add iodine to my tank, All corals require some iodine, and fish don't need any, No coral or fish will be harmed as long as u don't overdose.

Several Deep sea Gorgonians require Iodine. I don't believe any others benefit from it. All are harmed by excessive levels of Iodine.
Larval fish require Iodine in trace amounts, levels slightly higher than NSW will quickly wipe them out.
