i didnt want a camera phone when i switched over in october, but i didnt have a choice.
i've never used it, nor do i think i'll have the need to.
im 29 years old, by the way.

I sell phones for radioshack. This Iphone isn't 3g capable. It still only works on there edge network. So It doesn't even have their high speed network. It uses there older slower data network. I was complaining about that to our sales rep. And he said that the sales plan for the Iphone was to lauch it. Use it has a massive beta test. And By the end of the year it would be down to about 100 bucks by december with a Christmas lauch of a new and improved Iphone with there high speed capability. And most of the bugs worked out.

iphone is cool. but really...isnt that just overdoing it? what happened to cell phones now a days. next thing you know cellphones got hdtv with direct TV and s**t! ahaha i will get one when someone points a gun to my head and says "u better get a iphone."

The thing that worries me about that phone is, I am kinda tough on my phones, and I would be afraid that I would kill the lcd screen on it. One good sized crack in that thing and your phone is useless. Plus all of the fingerprints on the touch screen would drive me nuts!

You Guys are a bunch of jerks! Apple is awesome, if you don't have experience with it don't place your opinion on it. The hardware is handsome and is flawless and same with the software. Easy to use interface, fast and snappy computers. Very secure, virtualy virus free. They care about costumers. They think of ideas before microsoft copies them (for example Apple Makes Widgets Microsoft makes Digits, Apple makes iPod Microsoft makes Zune, ect.) We who are loyal to Apple are feed up with you PC scum putting us down for what we love.

yeah but only a few short years ago, pong was the only thing on a computer for fun... the world is changing, and it is your decision to change with it. personaly if i had the money i would buy an iphone around christmas when the price comes down. unfortunately i dont have the money so i have to stick with my 3 year old samsung pos phone... btw i love all my apple products... my laptop and my ipod. i have had my new ipod for 6 months with no problems, and my old ipod i had for 3 years before it got stolen...
like the apple guy said, people are to quick to shoot down apple when they have never used one and formed their own opinion

haha easy their killer... but yes apple is awesome and the software is handsome and flawless. and they are virus free. they do care about customers, but i wouldnt be so quick to say that all PC people are scum, just uneducated and unreasonably biased

While M$ still rolling out the Zune, Apple is already onto the iPhone. In 5 years, when M$ introduces an iPhone clone, Apple will hit them with something big again.
I am not putting my money on M$. That company has been on idle since the the mid 90s.

my wife's best friend came over yesterday with her 4gig iphone.
a) that front panel is just asking to be dropped. one drop and its done.
b) by the time we were done, there were fingerprints all over the panel. not to mention smudged from our faces when dialing.
c) the phone is pretty wild, but took some time getting used to.
d) the internet feature is pretty cool, but it was slow as hell yesterday.
my take, after using it, is that this is completely unecessary and should be reserved for buisness people and materialistic folks.
not for me.
as for software, i dont like the fact that you need to use the new itunes to activate/load it. i think itunes is the biggest POS aside from windows Vista.
as for Apple caring for its customers, you can tell that they really dont by the fact that this phone will only work with att/cingular's crappy network.
if they really cared, tmobile, sprint, verizon, etc would all be able to work with this phone.

hey cowfish, how did the touchscreen work? i was interested becasue it seems like that could be a little bit problematic...

(oh yeah they do care about their customers, from personal experience, never had a problem, never had something i didnt need sold to me, always a good outcome) as for the crappy network... that is part of buisness, and they were the highest bidder.

i dont want to bash apple, but if this thing works as well as iPods there are going to be a lot of disappointed people. i dont know of a person whose had an iPod last more than a year without them having to take it in. i have to admit that it looks cool though...

yeah, just one drop. What about grubby fingers? It is going to be that fast or I mean that slow, because it doesn't have AT&T's faster data hardware in it. Seriously, 56k maybe a little more is going to be about all you get out of it. You would think, maybe, that they could have put the hardware in the phone for there 3G service. you know in a 600 dollar phone.
But I do think it will be a pretty cool phone.

i'm on my 3rd in 2 years. apple told me there is nothing further that they can do for me. all 3 suffered hard drive failure.

friend came over tonite to put music on it.
you cannot drag and drop. you have to place it into a playlist, then sync it with the phone. there is no way to visibly view the songs that are on the phone in itunes. in order to put the music on, you have to sync it with your computer. when you un-check "the sync" so she can use it with her computer, it deleted everything i put on there.
this seems to be a big "c-block" on apple's part. hopefully, somebody will come up with a 3rd party app to mimic itunes without using that POS.

iPhone for $500 - $600 ? Not worth it. Just a big hype that will or won't flop. Watch - someone will come out with one the same functions and "eye candy" but cheaper than the iPhone. Crazy ... See what happens whenever "the next great thing" happens; suddenly everybody has to have one.

I have a 60 Gig video iPod ($400 - $500)
and
a baby pink Razr ($100 at the time)
Besides, I look awesome when I'm fiddling with both of them at once.
Besides... my cell phone bill is expensive enough as it is!
And I just bought the fiance a red LG chocolate too. <3
