Is 250 Mh on a 29 gallon too much?

Hi all,
Well what do you think? Is 250 mh on a 29 gallon reef too much. Will it harm my lower light corals such as shrooms, leathers exc?
I wan't MH so I can keep higher light coral and clams better. I was think 150/175 but I don't want to have to upgrade the lighting again if I upgrade the tank size.
Would adding a screen inbetween the mh and the tank to reduce the intensity be a good idea?

maybe put the lights up a little higher would help. If all you have is the MH bulb I think your shrooms and stuff will be fine. If you want just put them towards the bottom.

I did not mention but I am also thinking of putting either two vho bulbs or two pc bulbs, actinic supplement with it. VHO are 75 watts each and pc are 55 watts each.
I can not put the lights too high as for 1) it would look aweful weird on 29 gallon tank to have a hood that is 12+ inches high, 2) would it not become easy to topple if it is too tall compared to the size of the tank, 30x12.
