Is 96W enough

I am converting a 30 gal. into a LR and invert tank, but want to leave open the possibility of adding some shrooms and zoos and possibly xenia. Would a 96W 50/50 compact fixture be sufficient?

So even though these are low light corals, I would need to place them closer to the top?

they'll do fine but I would advise against using a 50/50 bulb and using a full 10K bulb to get the most daylight possible out of the 96w pc. Zoa's really arent low light corals just highly adaptable. most zooanthid prefer high lighting and multiply much faster under intense lighting. I kept softies (except leathers. never liked them) and LPS with no problem with one 96w daylight bulb and one 96w actinic over my 30g. I'm pretty sure without the actinic I could have kept the stuff.

I have a 30 and im running 130pc's and im thinking of upgrading to halides. I would say no of hand because my light has a hard time penetrating to the bottom and I have the current 130w..

I really like the look of the actinic, otherwise I would get a 10000k 96W bulb. Would I atleast get some corraline growth with a 50/50 bulb, and is their any corals that would be OK under this lighting? shrooms? I was also thinking of having only 1 fish.... a dwarf lion, would he be OK with any corals?

96 watts divided by 30 gallons = 3.2 watts per gallon. minimum for most softies is 3.5. But since PC's put out a slight bit more wattage than noted, you should be fine. Mushrooms like medium to indirect lighting. Having corals or anything that branches out could be harmed by the lionfish due to the fact that they like to perch. 50/50 provides required light essential for biological reactions; enhances the vibrant colors and clarity, it is full spectrum with a high intensity output 10,000k casts sparkling blue-white daylight rays. Fish, corals, macroalgae & plants thrive in its glow. matter of preference.

Thanks for all the help, the 50/50 is part 10000k. As far as corals, I would prob only do shrooms. Would they be OK with the Lion and the urchin?? Also, would chaeto grow under this lighting?

mushrooms willbe fine with lion and urchin, however chaeto like med to high levels of light to grow. With that 96 watt, thats on the low end
