Is a chiller for the Aqua Euro 34 really necessary?

Hello again!
Still haven't settled on my 1st aquarium yet and now I'm back looking at the Aqua Euro 34 gallon tank again... the LFS by my house has it on sale again. Tank, stand, all the built in equipment, they are even including the live sand and saltwater... only thing extra I would need to buy is the live rock.
They are currently selling this package for $699. But the owner was really pushing the chiller which would add another $399 to the purchase. I'm just wondering is the chiller really needed for this tank? Seems strange that the tank includes a heater but then also needs a chiller. Couldn't Just, y'know, not use the heater if I want to keep the water cool? There is a built in fan system in the tank so maybe that is enough to keep the water from overheating?
I'd really do not want to spend 400 bucks on something that I may not need if I went with this tank.
If anyone with some knowledge regarding this can tell whether or not a chiller is really necessary I'd really appreciate it! :)
BTW the last time I linked the Aqua Euro's stats I was told not do that so if you need to see the tecky bits of the aquarium just google search "Aqua Euro 34 gallon tank."
Thanks!

seems the lfs guy is drooling over you.$700 for a 34 gallon tank and some trivial cheap stuff.is he adding a metal halide system in there for that>no you dont need a chiller.in fact 95% of us long time hobbyists dont run one.unless you dont heat/ac at you house.i am border line to get a chiller and i have 1200 watts of light.
if you cant tell i hate most lfs.for $700 you can easily look around and get a bigger tank and the other basic things these days.next he will tell you its ok to put a tang in the 35 gallon.
good luck

I've been running my 24 gallon in 95+ weather (outside since I live in Utah) with a 150 W Currant MH set up and have never had an over heating issue since I set it up 6 years ago. Its not necessary. If you want to spend 700 go bigger!

no need for the chiller. you can put a fan over your sump and itll cool your tank down pretty well.

For 700 bucks and a little craigslist/ebay searchin, one can put together a ~100g system, fowler to start.

Hmm thats interesting I thought $699 would be a good deal since they are including the sand and seawater... especially since most online stores are selling just the tank on its own for $849...
At the moment I'm talking to a guy on craiglist who is selling his 90g reef with all the required equipment and 40lbs of live rock for $850, but I figured I would look into this Aqua Euro if the deal went sour.
I would like to get a nice new tank between 60-100 gallons but unfortunatly all the fish stores in my area must only cater to the hard-core aquarist because they all tell me its impossible to build a reef set up that size for under $2000. Because of this I was considering starting out with FOWLR style tank setup since its cheaper but only include reef safe fish and inverts... and then maybe later down the line upgrade the lights so I can support corals.
Glad to hear I wouldn't need the chiller on that Aqua Euro though :)

@ DeeJeff442 I missed your question.... I believe the Aqua Euro has metal halide lights built in... so does that change your opinion on whether this thing needs a chiller or not?

not really.you need to find out what it is exactly.if it has mh bulbs the light system should have cooling fans in the unit.
