Is all white spots ick?

I have a hippo in hypo (lol sounds funny) and she has been in there for over 2weeks now and the SG has been down to 1.009 for all of that time minus 2 days. No signs of ick for over a week. I looked on her today and there is a tiny white spot. Could that be something other than ick? I was hoping it was gone and we were on our downward run now.

Where is the spot located? Ich is not the only thing that can be white. How large is the spot?

On right side below dorsal fin. the size of a grain of sand or even smaller. Hard to see, I am just hyper sensitive right now since I am treating all of them. Noticing everything.

It is very good that you are noticing everything. Take a look at the spot with a magnifying glass. See if it is round and smooth or looks like the flesh comming out through the skin. It is possible that the fish is developing lymphocystis from not having the nutrition that comes from grazing on the rocks. It could also be ich though.

Well the SG was at DT levels and I slowly lowered it over the course of 2 days to the 1.009 so it was at the beginning of the hypo.

Ah, alright. I thought maybe the SG raised for a few days. Take a good look at the spot with a magnifying glass. Make a note somewhere that you saw the spot today. There isn't much that you can do other than keep an eye on it. If it falls back off within a week then it was ich and you have to count three weeks again. Keep an eye on the size of it. Lymphocystis will grow larger or shrink in size(if it is healing). Ich will just fall off.

Dang, dont know if I want it to fall off or not lol. Then I have to start all over. The ick though that was in my DT should be gone though in 3 weeks since there has been no fish in it right? THis past Sunday was 2 weeks the DT has been fishless.

It has been known to take longer before you can be sure that all are dead. Six weeks is a good amount of time to leave the display fishless.

Ok, I got the light on her and tried with a mag glass and man she is fast. WOnt stop swimming to get a great look at her. When she turned sideways I caught a glimpse of it from the side. It didn't have that smooth little bubble that it was before. This almost looked like a little hair waving around. I actually think it may just be something stuck to her. I will watch it.

Keep an eye on it. See if it moves around. It is possible that she has a parasitic worm. If it is a worm then a FW dip will make the worm let go. I would just keep an eye on it and see what exactly it is.

Yes, but not in the same magnitude as ich. Parasitic worms feed off of fish and reproduce but they are much easier to get rid of. For starters you can see them right away. They can be plucked off of a fish or removed via a dip. Just because there is one worm on your fish that does not mean that hundreds more are in there reproducing. It could just be that one worm.
