I Just purchased a refractometer this evening from my LHS, after calibrating and useing it I opened the slideing door in my den and tossed my deep six I must admitt however although the deep six was acomplet pain the _______(fill in the blank) it was reading amazingley accurate comparing it to the refractometer. hands down the refractometer is the way to go. Why play guessing games on the accuracey of something as crucial as the salinity of your tank. Why would you risk a tank full of pricey specimens against a 10.00 antique. You cannot afford NOT TO HAVE A REFRACTOR in my opinion and the old fashion gauges should be out out to pasture, I also have a floating hydrometer, it works but also a pain in the_____(fill in the blank) another antique that needs to go I purchased my refractor for 69.95,

Pinpoint Salinity monitor..best thing since sliced bread...
I bought a tank from a guy who was using a swing arm and his read 1.024..
I used my monitor and it read 1.037, he was wondering why his fish didn't look good.
