is glass cleaner bad?

is using windex to clean the outside of my fish tank bad? if so why? thanks

I do it too... no harm as long it does'nt get inside the tank... Windex and most glass cleaner contain ammonia!!

I wouldnt use it. It has horrible chemicals thatll kill everything in your tank. If I was you id use Vinegar and Water. Works great.

just plain RO water in a spray bottle and dry newspaper works fer me

i just use a clean rag and sum water..spray the tank down with a spray bottle and wipe away!

Or just place the windex bottle sprayer pointed into a rag- no overspay, then wipe tank. Same way for the TV(CRT)...

windex contains ammonia and if used on glass or acrylic it will scratch it because ammonia is an abrasive.....

Which is more abrasive -Rag, Dust, or salt deposits?
