I asked this in disease but didnt get an answer yet.
I had a tang die from it just this week then a clown died of it this morning i was just wondering if it is contageous??
Other fish in tank look great.... Iv had HORRIBLE!!! Luck with clowns so that was really no suprise... I have been treating the tank with a reef safe salution for 6 days... but now since all ich inhabitants are gone i was going to stop unless it is contageous...
QT tank i still cycling so i cant put fish in it at the moment :(.
Should i keep treating the tank or no?

the ich life cycle is 3-4 weeks, so there's a good likelyhood your other fish will get it too. only one stage of it is visible.
you might want to get a QT up and running for hyposaline conditions to kill the ich. no fish in ur ST for 4 weeks will get rid of it there.
Good luck!

Bigdog as soon as the QT is cycled i will be setting it up for hypo... do you recommend still treating the tank with the reef safe stuff or no???
PS The tang and the clowns were the newer additions to the tank. and i know tangs are suspectable to ich... and i got them from the same place.

if ur pulling out all the fish into QT for hypo, you dont need to treat the ST anymore. the ich will die off with no fish host. inverts will be fine in there. make sure you leave them out for 4 weeks (it'll take that long to hypo anyways).
