I can see how that is frustrating, but I don't think it is happening in this case. He takes good care of all of his tanks.

Duh i was not talking about all your other tanks, just this one with your aggressive fish in it.And for your info i am not a noob i just don't frequent this board that much.And i have 4 satwater tanks myself and i freshwater tank with a stingray in it and i have no problem keeping everything in check along with working 60+ hours a week.

he was at first its a GHT no one knows enough about them except they are from the quuen triggers family, it was hist ank for a few months so he had home court advantage...they are f riendly now and all looks well...i don't think any of them have worms they are swimming nicely look greatand eating fantasticly. in my 210.
.my skimmer the HOB octopus hb-100 is amazing it works like a charm i feed and power feed these guys and i empty the collection cup 2x a week it all skim no water....its really a great skimmer..my nitrates are at 2.5 and i feed alot in my 65 fowlr...dif fish...

I know this is repeated over and over, but size is a big factor in aggression problems or lack thereof.
Even if the fish are small, a big tank will go a LOOONG way to addressing said problems.

the GHT and CT are in the office 210 plenty of room...lol
my 65 at home has 4 fish a 1 inch picasso 3 inch foxface 2 inch niger and a wrasse.. they all get along great... when they get bigger we move them to the 210 in the office.

Well then you are up a creek with those fish. I'm a believer in Mutually Assured Destruction. And if a clown trigger can't scare another fish into not bothering it then you have one mean fish. You should stick a lunar wrasse in there and see if they get along. Not really but it would be interesting.

if not i dont think you can speak wi th proper knowledge...maybe its more aggresive then a CT maybe the CT is just getting used to the tank and the GHT was already there for a while os he was comfortable...and had the territory manned. as far as your post i have no idea what you are saying your too smart for me. lol

It isn't unusual for any very aggressive fish, like a CT, to be intimidated when 1st introduced into a new tank. He doesn't have territory to defend and is under the normal stress of moving. Once established, this will usually change and its survival of the fittest.

its not a fact that the GHT picked on him.. i thought i saw them not fighting but whatver u wanna call it at first..now they swim next to eachother eat together they are all good..all i said was the CT was fatter in the beginning nowhes not as fat..at first he got a bit skinny onthe bottom now hes fluffing up..who knows i dunno whati'm saying but theyare in a 210 which is an adequate home for them with other fish and all is good..you can find the complete stocking list for the 210 in other threads..it is truley a beautiful tank and my boss is very proud to have it in the office.

as far as survival of the fit....i train them to be good ot ry to i feed them nori,frozen prepared foods...some times silversides (frozen) if i wasn't being consciencous i would just throw in live freshwater feeder fish.. i try to keep the aggression as best as I can...so i'm doing my part..will one of them go nuts one day.. maybe ? they are about 5-6 inches in a 210.. with other fish...with 300lb's of LR with many caves.. I think i'm taking care of them fine and doing a great job.

ESP take a breath and relax . People are only trying to help you there is no need to get upset . Just because somebody doesn't have expertise in GHT doesn't mean they don't have an opinion on triggers in general . So just relax and take the advice you want and let the rest go .

Well, I did read in my head that you had them both in a 65, then later went back and saw you'd really said 210 and a 65 was a different tank. And the MAD theory was just commenting on how aggressive a fish would have to be to be winning a war with a clown trigger.
But you're saying you are not seeing any aggression between the two, just one is rapidly loosing weight? Could be worms... Or maybe he didn't eat as much while the pecking order was established.

huge misunderstanding!!! in the 210 besides for other various fish there is a CT and a GHT...the CT is fine now...I thought it was a problem it's not so its all good...in my home the 65 fowlr has a 4 small fish in it...thats all no more confusions lol

yeah, you know I recently moved my dogface from my 180 where he was the biggest fish in the tank to a 300 that was 3 feet longer where he actually has to eat with other fish and he is much thinner, it isn't that he isn't eating as much if not more he just has to now work for it. And has an extra 3 feet of swimming room.

There might not be a lot of information on the GHT at the moment, but it is from the Balistes family. This is notoriously the most aggressive genus of all triggers. It is also one of the largest of the family. The GHT, like the Queen, is very territorial and will become more aggressive with age. They are however, much more subdued when they are smaller than then the queen.
The reports that are currently out on this fish show more along the lines of a Blue-line trigger. These fish make great additions to home aquaria and have awesome personalities, but at 26", very few aquariums can support it. They grow very fast and if healthy will not allow another fish to take its food...regardless of who it is fighting with.
I am looking at adding a GHT to my large tank, but want to see what comes of this species in the coming months as there is little know yet.
That being said, if your clown is not fighting back there is an issue. Clown triggers are known for their ability to bully other fish. If it is hiding in a corner or in rocks, then there is something that is bothering it (this usually occurs at night). The only way to find out is to stick a camera on the tank over night and find out who is doing what damage.
Unfortunately, triggers have VERY tough skin (it feels like 60 grit sandpaper) and any scratches from other fish usually do not appear.
Also, when the GHT first came out it was retailing for over $1K. It is now less than a Clown trigger. There might have been a reason they were not collected previously. Keep an eye on the 2 and if push comes to shove, be prepared to remove one or both for the health of tank.

they look like they they get along fin in the beginningt hee was a bit of swinging thier tails at eachother...but now the yare just fine.. the CT is puffed on the belly and they all eat fine i mix up the food do there's anough for everyone with the flow.. i also hand or spot feed with tweezers...some silversides to each seperately..noi problems so far so good. thanks.

so theydo not fight at all they are i harmony...i had to make an overseas call to the orient tonight so i was in the office late i obsereved for a few hours with just the moon lights on..the CT and GHT behaviors..they most of the time went to thier usualy spots caves and just foatedt here sleeping somtimes with there head down and tail up and in all dif positions..wshen the phone rigs they get out of thier spots and dart acoss and swim for a few min then go back o their spots they are docile at night.. things really look great..if anyone is chasing anyone its the GHT chasing around the purple tang but no bite marks...or fins or scales clipped...so just chasing him but no signs of him being attacked.

..is this all normal.. like triggers go into a cave or wedge themselves in a hole in a rock and just stay there relaxing for hours at night or sleep in wierd positions ad act docile at night ? the crosshatch made himslef a hold and you can see the small pieces of LR that he "drilled" through.. he fits nicely in ther and is on the other side of the tank than the CT and GHT...when the lights go off all th fish go to thier "spots"
