im posting this because sandman12 says it is legal and i think its illegel to collect stuff from the ocean like fish and conchs and hermits
but not stuff like rocks etc this is definitely illegeal
any thoughts
also this is in florida

i say its legal to collect 20 items at a time except Live rock, Bahama starfish, longspine urchin, any sea fan of the species Gorgonia flabellum or of the species Gorgonia ventalina, any hard or stony coral (Order Scleractinia), any fire coral (Genus Millepora).
In order to collect this stuff u must have a recreational saltwater fishing license (resident or non-resident).
I got this right from teh marin conservation commison.

But then again, I'm an old biker and if I don't do something illegal at least once a day, I just don't feel right...:D
Of course lately, I've been limited to driving around without a seatbelt on... :hilarious

check your local ordinances, they vary considerably. EVEN in the same state in some cases. I personally would not take an opinion from someone in texas on this, when i live in Florida. I would contact my local wildlife commision or something for verification, instead.

believe it or not I asked my airlines if I could take bring back fish. and they said yes as long as it is in a leak proof container and fits under your seat.:) if you have placed an order from swf.com and seen how they package stuff. thats how you should collect stuff and bring it back.:)

YES IT IS LEAGAL YOU HAVE TO CHECK WITH YOUR STATE GAME WARDEN TO GET A PERMIT FOR THAT STATE YOUR GOING TO GET THE FISH ETC!

IT is legalllllllllllllllllllll You must first go to game warden and get a liences or a permit then there are only so many you can get of each they have a list of what you can take and up to what size of each! I personaly would only do it if i had a qt to keep them after i treated them then i might putem in my big tank you never know what kind of stuff is in those critters!!
