is it normal for the ph and alk to spike during cycle??? or should i add some chemicals to lower them? i got the impression that just the nitrite,nitrate and ammonia spiked during cycle. also is it normal to barly even see the ammonia spike during the cycle but to have a massive nitrite and nitrate spike?

yes it is normal to hardly see the amonia and have big spike in ni
it depends how u are cycling
as far as ph and others i wouldnot be to concerend right away give tank some time to stabilize ,
how big is tank how long has it been cycling ?
how are u cycling ?
what is in the tank ?

30 gallon
cycling for almost a week
using dsb seeded with ls, lr and some hallibut to start the cycle.
bout 4 inch sandbed and 25lbs of rock

I wouldn't worry about the PH until your cycle is done. A water change will be in order, and at that time your tank will be stable, and your PH will probably be fine.
