Is it ok to pour water in for water changes?

I'll be doing my first water change this week, i plan on siphoning 5 gallons out of my tank, is okay to just pour the new saltwater back in?

How long has the salt mix been mixing for? Did you mix it or buy it premade?
If has been mixed for at least 6 hours and ph and salinity match you will be fine.

Sure... you'll be fine. Just be careful not to pour it in so fast that you stir up the substrate or knock things about, and try to avoid pouring it directly onto livestock, as any temperature differential can be tough on tehm.

Shbould be fine if parameters are close, don't drop you tank temp suddenly though!

Just food for thought, what i do is add water to outside of tank through over flow box at back of tank. That way water temp is adjusted through sump then delivered back to DT.
But, yes you can add directly to DT...

I do not like pouring water directly into the tank. Seems stressful. I take a pump and still it in my good water and I pump the water into my sump. This way, the fish do not even know water is being added.
