Is it possible??

Okay, when i first started putting my tank together and putting the lr in I went to the lfs. When i was picking out lr i noticed a rather large piece of dead coral in the lr tank and they let me have it for free. Now after looking closely at it (3 weeks after putting in tank) it is starting to get "bubbles". So I researched it. It has the plates of a dead bubble coral but it is starting to get new green "bubble" tips. Is it possible that it is coming back to life? There was no sign of life on it when I brought it home, but it looks like it's starting to regenerate. :notsure:

I'd say it is very possible....I've seen bubble corals revived from near death. Just allow yours to continue as is and possibly spot feed it some meaty type foods a few times a week....best of luck.....

NM-I just gotta ask, how do you spot feed it meaty foods. We have a bubble coral and would like to know how. So far we have just been giving it phyto.
Meisaco-very cool find. Post some pics and let us see your awesome bargain.

Just drop the meaty food (silversides are good) into the center of the coral .... you'll see the mouth begin to open.

I'd love to post picks, however I managed to break the digital camera!!
He's a green bubble coral and as of today has a few more plates that are looking like bubbles. I read up on them a little lastnight and it said that at night they will deflate some and you'll see mostly tentacles, we have a few tentacles!!! It looks like at some point someone tried to split it and start a new one and probably was not successful. They split it right down the center and exposed the inner skeleton, which amazingly enough is starting to look healthy! Thanks for all your help!!
