Is it to late to add more Arag Sand?

I had a 30G tank (36Wx17Hx12)is it to late to put more Arag Sand on this tank since its
has been 16 days already from where I started.I have 24 lbs right now (approx.1 inch sand bed) and some say that 3 to 4 inches of sand bed is better.My tank is not deep enough so if I put more sand to cover 3 inches then my tank will only have 14 inches high and it will not be to deep for the fish also I'm planning to put corals in the future when cyling is done.Your suggestion is highly appreciated.

It's never too late to add sand.I suggest you use Natures Ocean live sand.3-4 inches is best,you should have at least this if you want a good reef tank in the furure.Also,you seem worried about swimming room for fish.A true "REEF" tank will have little,or NO fish in it.Fish actually will harm the ecosystem of a TRUE Reef tank...
