is it true that you can give mandrin dragonets fish roe?

my tropical fish store told me until my tank is established enough for my copepods that i could give it fish roe?

Not sure that would be the best for that fish. Unless you watch him very well to see if he even eats its, thats not good diet for the fish and my die. Best bett is to spend 15 bucks or so and get a bag of copepods for him to eat and that should get you a good start on your pop populationas well.

It is probably not fish roe they are talking about. They are talking about ova which is oyster eggs. They can be somewhat difficult to find. Nutramar makes a good brand but they are out of stock until September. This is actually an excellent addition to pods for a mandarin but you should always supplement your mandarin with pods and amphipods if you can find them. It is their natural diet. They will eventually become malnourished over time if they do not get them. Although if they like frozen foods you can get away with only that for a long time.
 
Mine loves to pluck some clownfish eggs whenever he can sneak past the male clownfish. I guess he just likes a different snack from time to time.
 
At first I thought it had to be copepods around the eggs which it could of been. However, I have actually seen it get eggs after closer observations. Usually the day after they are laid - day 3 and then it doesn't bother with them any more.
