Is LR a must?

My first saltwater tank was a 30G with 60lbs. of live rock and it was wallet emptying affair. I am currentlt planning a 75G FO tank built into a wall in my bsement. My question is can I run a healthy FO tank without LR?

yes and no...I always tell others that LR is essential to a sucessful marine aquarium. But there are alternitives, that require more work and tank maintenence. Plus they look tacky.

If I was to use live rock again what would the minimum amout be while still being beneficial? Thanks for you help

60 might work id go with 75 tho

Could I use some base rock with about 30 lbs. of LR and let the LR cure the base rock and how long would the curing take? Thanks so much for your help

If you would like to use base rock I would go with about 30 pounds and 30 lbs of live rock. Im not sure on the curing part.. Sorry
