is my ballast going bad?

i have tryed two bulbs in my one ballast and the bulbs just flicker on and off. wiring seems all good, i checked it out. is my ballast going bad?

If it is a metal Halide. It is normal for the bulb. it will take a few days before it will work properly. It happened to mine when I set it up

That doesn't sound right....
Unless your talking about "burning in" to the proper spectrum...
But it should come on and stay on...

i'm using coralife pc bulbs and a triad ballast, i forget what the old one was i think water got to it. anyhow i still can't get this ballast to fire up and its new.. i have it wired just like my other ballast,but both ballast are alittle diferent setup wise so i still must not be doing something right. i suck at wiring stuff. now fish-plants and cars i can build,grow and take care of. haha
