My tank just went through a catastrophic power outage and killed almost all my inhabitants. I had a bta in there that i thought was a goner as it had came off the rock it was on and appeared dead. I left it in the tank over night because i couldnt reach it and was too upset to do a whole lot. Came in today and went to take him out and he had reattached himself to the rock. And wouldnt come off. The only thing is he spit up a good size amount of white puss like stuff. What was it? Also Ive heard that once they spit the stuff used for photosynthesis up they are done for. Is that the white puss like stuff?

is his mouth open or closed?
if its gaping open you might be in trouble. But if its closed pretty tight you could be alright.

today i found it, so don't give up on it until you see it in a big mush pile.

you can take the rock that he is sitting on out of teh water and take a whiff. if it smells like death (youll know when yo usmell it) it is dead. Otherwise given the propper conditions it should bounce back.
